In 1991 we opened Hobson’s Choice. After 20 years of living and cheffing in Montana, I returned to Williamstown for my 20th high school reunion. While in town I saw the then-closed restaurant now called Hobson’s Choice, and I knew at once that with my food and know-how I could make it run (I also re-met an old high school sweetheart, Lisa, who is now my wife).

In 2001 we razed the postage stamp kitchen, rebuilding with a large modern kitchen. Life is good.

Now 17 years in, with lots of ups and a few downs, we are cruising along doing great food in a beautiful building. Like I said, life is good.
